Marquis Yachts Earns 2008 World Yacht Trophy Award
Marquis Yachts was recently awarded the 2008 World Yacht Trophy's Best Interior Design Award in recognition of the company's new 500 Sport Coupe yacht. The award was announced during the 2008 International Festival de Plaisance, which is Europe's largest yacht show held each year in Cannes, France.
The awards ceremony took place during a gala event at the Carlton Hotel on the shore of the French Riviera in Cannes. Hundreds of industry professionals, yacht owners and local officials were on hand to witness a twilight parade of more than a dozen yachts that were nominated in each award category.
On hand to accept the award for Marquis Yachts was Paolo Bencivenni, Vice President of International Sales for Marquis Yachts and Carlo Nuvolari from Nuvolari - Lenard Naval Architects in Venice, Italy. "We are thrilled to be recognized by such a prestigious organization in the world of international yachting. Marquis yachts were first introduced to the market five years ago. In that time we have achieved what many feel is the highest form of recognition in this industry... a truly outstanding feat. Receiving this award validates our leadership status in the premium yacht industry" - stated Bencivenni during the awards ceremony.
The selection of World Yacht Trophy recipients is made by a panel of 13 judges in which five are senior magazine editors from various countries throughout Europe while the remaining judges are yacht experts representing various perspectives of the industry. "Our goal is to define a praiseworthy yacht in each category and keep the award both objective and independent" commented Michael Karsenti, President of Luxmedia Group, sponsors of the World Yacht Trophy award.
